     Tammy Grove Hamilton is a board certified Nurse Practitioner and is the owner of Martinsburg Family Healthcare and Skin Medix Laser Center.  She is a lifelong native of Berkeley County and attended Martinsburg High School, James Rumsey Vocational School, Shepherd University, and Shenandoah University where she was conferred a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.  Tammy’s clinical focus has centered on diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol management.  In addition to acting as a primary care provider, she is also is certified in the use of cosmetic laser, dermal fillers and Botox applications.  Tammy’s passion is to improve her patients overall health through thorough evaluation, individualized treatment and continuing health management.

 

 

J. Patricia Pickard, MDPat Pickard, Family Medicine Physician

 

     Dr. Patricia (Pat) Pickard is an MD practicing family medicine who joined the MHF Staff in 2011.  She has been in Martinsburg since 2004.  She grew up in Bethesda, MD, attended Ohio Wesleyan University (BA Zoology) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Master of Religious Educations).  After a few years in youth ministry and several years as a high school biology teacher she attended George Washington School of Medicine and received her MD in 1997.  She enjoys developing relationships with patients in order to encourage preventative medicine, to help foster healthy lifestyles and to help solve medical problems.

 

 

Sam Amaro, PA-CSam Amaro, Family Physicians Assistant

 

     Sam Amaro is a certified Physician Assistant who has been practicing medicine for over 20 years.  He initially got involved with health care when he joined the US Air Force in 1979 after graduating from New Bedford HS in Massachusetts.  After serving in the Armed Services for 4 years and being honorably discharged, he entered the PA program at Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV.  After graduating he decided to settle in Martinsburg where he focuses on family health care needs.  Sam is stll very much involved with Veterans as an employee of the VA Hospital in Berkeley County.  Sam has been working with Martinsburg Family Healthcare since 2008.

 

 

 

Jennifer L. Anderson, FNP-BCJennifer Anderson, Family Nurse Practitioner

 

     Jennifer Anderson is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  Raised in Northern Virginia, she moved to Hardy County, WV with her family in 1984; subsequently settling in the Shenandoah Valley in 2003.  An alumnus of Shenandoah University, Jennifer earned her AND in 1995, BSN in 1996 and her MSN in 2001.  In addition to primary practice, she is certified in dermal fillers and Botox injections.  Jennifer enjoys getting to know her patients and believes goal of improved health is a partnership between the patient and primary care provider.

 

 

 

 

James F. Wachter, FNP-BC

 Jim Wachter, Family Nurse Practitioner

     Jim Watcher is a lifelong resident of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.  He completed paramedic training at Shepherd University in 1982 and worked in emergency medical serviced in the Eastern Panhandle for 20 years.  He returned to school at the Shenandoah University School of Nursing and received his Associate Degree in 1987 and his Bachelor’s Degree in 1995.  In 1995, he graduated for West Virginia University with a Masters Degree in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner.  He was certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 1997.  He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from WVU.  Jim has an extensive background in critical care, orthopedics, endocrinology, diabetes and community & family health.

 

 

 

Kimberly L. Applegate, PA-CKim Applegate, Family Nurse Practioner

     Kimberly Applegate is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and has resided in Berkeley County for the past 11 years where she and her husband stay busy raising their four children.  Kim received her nursing degree from the Mercer Medical Center School of Nursing in Trenton, NJ in 1998 and received her BSN and MSN from Shenandoah University in 2007 and 2011, respectively.  She has worked as an Intensive Care Unit nurse for 13 years and is currently a full time NP at the ICU at Winchester Medical Center.  She works part time at Martinsburg Family Healthcare and she uses her experience to meet your family’s healthcare needs.

 

 

 

Stephanie D. Gladden, FNP-BCStephanie Gladden, Family Nurse Practioner

 

     Stephanie Gladden is a life-long resident of West Virginia.  She graduated from Shepherd College in 1996 with a BSN.  After working for about 5 years, she attended West Virginia University and received her MSN in 2004 at which time she became a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She has worked in family practice for the past 9 years and her areas of interest are diabetes, hypertension and hypercholesterolemia.

 

 

 

 

Martha J Morrow, RN, PHD,CFNPMarty Morrow, Family Nurse Practioner

 

     Martha Morrow has been a nurse practitioner for over 15 years and a nurse for over 40 years.  Her primary education was at St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira, NY.  She continued her education, obtaining a BSN at SUNY Binghamton, a MSN and Ph.D. at George Mason University and finally her FNP at the University of Virginia.  She is a full-time faculty member in the Family Nuse Practitioner Program at the Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA.  She also volunteers at the Winchester Free Medical clinic where she had a practice as part of her full-time employment at Shenandoah University.  Her primary interests are managing chronic diseases such a diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and women’s health.  She joined the staff at Martinsburg Family Healthcare in 2013.
